July 11, 2020 - Moved into our new home at the GLEAMNS McCormick Head Start Center

Saturday, October 2, - Gold Rush in McCormick 10am - 4pm.  The McCormick Backpack will set up a tent with information.

Tuesday, October 5 -  501C discovery day at SLV, Monticello from 4 pm - 6pm.  The McCormick Backpack will set up a tent.  This event is to highlight the 501C groups in McCormick County and is open to all that is interested in finding out how they can help in McCormick County.  

Saturday, December 4 - McCormick County Christmas Parade 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm.  The McCormick Backpack will have a small float in the parade this year.  All backpack volunteers are welcome and urged to dress in red or green and join us to walk in the parade and support the group.  This will give us all a chance to meet and greet!

Saturday, February 29 2020  at the Hardy Foundation's 4th Annual Gala the McCormick Backpack Ministry was awarded a plaque for their work on the "feed school children on the weekend ministry". 

A great time was had by all!  Members of the board got a chance to meet and socialize with the community.  Thank you to the Hardy Foundation for recognizing the work that the Backpack Ministry does so that "NO CHILD GOES HUNGRY".

We received a check for $1, 767 from the Savannah Lakes Women Golf Association. The program was Birdies for Backpack (B4B) women who made birdies donated their winning $ to the Ministry.

LIONS CLUB DONATES TO MCCORMICK BACKPACK MINISTRY

At Gold Rush Day, President Rob Clancy presented a $1,000 check to Roseanne Selby, Chair, McCormick Backpack Ministry. Lion Dave Merrills is with volunteers Peter and Christine Benedetto at the Backpack Booth. These funds will help meet the nutritional needs of up to 133 school children over the weekend in McCormick County. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 1145, McCormick, SC 29835

Barbara Owen Smiley Sept 30, 1957 - June 1, 2020


Henry was a new volunteer to the Backpack Ministry in 2020.  he joined the Ministry to give back after the loss of his wife Barbara on June 1, 2020.  He and Barbara are now together but will be missed.
